Fairy Tale Bridge (Anker)

The Anker bridge in Oslo is nicknamed The Fairy Tale Bridge because it has 4 sculptures from Norwegian fairy tales.

White Bear King Valemon

It's similar to Beauty and the Beast, but with interesting differences. You can read the synopsis here.

Per Gynt
The Norwegian fairy tale that is the basis of Henrik Ibsen's Peer Gynt play centers on a fanciful man. This sculpture captures the story he tells his mother - he was hunting, shot a reindeer (not fatally), and before it could recover, he jumped on its back. They rode all over, up and down mountains, off a cliff into a lake, and eventually Per was left behind to walk home - he arrived bedraggled, with an empty hunting bag.

Katie Woodencloak
This tale is similar to Cinderella, with the bull as fairy godmother 🙂. You can read the synopsis here

Veslefrikk with His Fiddle
Veslefrikk (Little Freddy) is condemned to hang. With the noose around his neck, surrounded by the crowd, he asks for a last favor; he wants to play his fiddle. Wish granted, as soon as he starts playing, no one can stand still! He is saved!
