Brattleboro Museum
We went to the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center this afternoon - the current exhibit (in this former train station, appropriately enough) is "Road Trip - America Through the Windshield" :-)
Loved the pinecones out front
The view from inside is fantastic! (Notice that we went from a train station in Utica to a train station in Brattleboro - but we drove)
Here is a painting (oil!) of the view through the windshield
I don't know, but I liked it!
A room full of Art Deco - silver gelatin prints
I thought of Tim M when I saw this:
Even the bathrooms were interesting!
~~~~
Next: The Metropolis!
Brattleboro Buildings
Yeah, I could stand to live in just about any one of these (in the summer, anyway)...
These would accommodate my pointy hat:
These are pretty solid
This would COMPLETELY feed my Downtown, center-of-life need
This is our hotel (very kitchy!)
What a pleasant place to sit in the sun for a while!
HOWEVER! I could NOT handle this sort of maintenance (no no no no no!)
Utica to Brattleboro
Our drive from upstate New York to Brattleboro, Vermont took us past Hogback Mountain
Then we met our friend, Donna!
Here's a lovely little taste of the scenery:
I think I need a fence like this...
~~~~~~
Oh yes! I *finally* got the spelling right! It's Brattleboro :-)
