Beef Stew

Beef Stew

1/3 kg beef, fat removed, cut into very small pieces
1 packet "jus de rôti"*
4 mushrooms, diced
2 small carrots, diced
1 1/2 small onions, diced
3 cloves garlic, chopped
Basil, thyme, and salt to taste
Water to cover
Simmer 1-2 hrs, adding water as needed
Serve (2) with good French bread
