I got so (1) frustrated by the total inability of my camera to capture what I saw, and (2) awe-struck by the glowing kites and Autumn leaves, that I finally broke out my paints.
This is from my mind's eye - the kite surfers really are far away, but they loom larger than life from my apartment...

I'm no expert but many years ago I won a scholarship to an art school and briefly attended. The picture hit me squarely and I wanted to be there. IMHO, I love the composition as well as the color balance. You're right. It's something a camera cannot capture. Well done!
