In a pot, add 1/2 cup green lentils and 1 1/2 cups water or broth.
Add:
1 small chopped onion
1 clove chopped garlic
thyme
ginger
1 tsp green chile powder
Cover, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes. When tender, remove the lid and boil off as much of the excess liquid as preferred.
Salt and pepper to taste.
Serve with:
Turkey panfried with onions, mushrooms, lardons, and asparagus

Sounds good - just what I am doing today - canning soups
I just made soup today, and tossed in a handful of lentils - yummy!
