Sète to Glasgow

We made it!

We spent all of yesterday getting to Glasgow, and we were pooped! Still are, frankly, but we did get out a bit today (more on that later).

We drove to the Montpellier airport, using the same directions (with a bit more confidence, yay!) and parking. We were on easyJet, so all our boarding passes are on their app - which notified us that our flight was delayed. No problem, as we had a *ton* of layover time...

Montpellier airport was again painless - no line to check in, and a short security line. We had to go through passport control before boarding, and the agents puzzled through our American passports, looking for our entry stamps ☺️. They relaxed once we showed our French IDs...

The party ended once we landed in Luton (a London airport) - it was a madhouse! After passport control, we had to pick up our checked bag, re-tag it and drop it, then find our next gate. There was zero information about where to do any of this - we followed the crowd for almost everything. Well, we did have 3 hours to kill (including another flight delay), so I had a beer. Did you know that Brits don't have the same beer language? I finally just took a Guinness.

Next, our 1 hour flight got us to Glasgow, where things were a bit smoother. Our bag was off right away, and we found our bus to town with 5 minutes to spare - aaahhhh...

We stopped for a couple of necessities at the grocery store, and had a hiccup or two getting into our Airbnb, but finally got settled in. We made a quick dinner at about 11pm, but then couldn't relax until even later 😒. Fortunately, we figured this would happen, and hadn't made any big plans for the next day.

~~~ yes, some of that time was spent looking at *any* other alternative methods of travel...
