Highlands Tour 3

It was still overcast when we got to Fort William...

These rock pylons are all that is left of the Fort.


This is all we could see of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK. We did not stop for pictures...

Interesting metal bridge built by Telford, a Scottish engineer. He also built a beautiful stone bridge, but I missed getting a picture.

We also passed the Clan Cameron Museum 🙂

From here, we followed the Caledonian Canal, which connects 3 freshwater lochs between Fort William and Inverness - the idea was to allow ships to cut off the longer Atlantic route.

Fortunately, we were headed north into sunshine!
