Spain 2026 ¡Sevilla!

We're back in Sevilla! We're even back in the apartment we had 3 years ago 😎.

Today was the first fully sunny day here, so we went to the park

Plaza de España

We walked to the cathedral, then stopped for lunch

Then on to the Archivo de Indias, where we caught the tram to the park

Another view of Plaza de España - beautiful, as always!

We meandered through the Parque de María Luisa (it's huge!), then back to our temporary home.

Tonight? Flamenco!

~~~
We've been somewhat cursed on this trip.
- The weather forecast is all rain, all the time. Before today - rain. After today - rain... Still, it is warmer than home 🙂
- There is construction (again!); Plaza Nueva and our tram stop, just one block away, are all torn up. Fortunately, the noise is not an issue, but it's a lot harder getting around.
- We had high hopes for being able to use the wheelchair to see more of the park; it turns out that cobblestones are used a lot! At intersections of paths and surrounding fountains...
Spain 2026 Hasta Luego Torremolinos
Our three weeks on the Costa del Sol has come to an end - our apartment was right on the beach boardwalk, so easy to get out to the beach (and *very* easy to just look at it 🤣).
We spent a sunny afternoon at Battery Park, enjoying several fountains
and fantastic views
The beach was not too crowded...
The nearby mountains had some snow (and reflected the sunset very nicely!)
Our strolls usually included this fellow
and these trees
One thing has to be mentioned - Framing is everything in a shot! This building under construction cuts off half of the original view from our apartment 😥. I feel bad for the fellow who bought it as an investment just a few years ago, when this area was just an enclosed parking lot!
Spain 2026 Beach!
It's a beautiful day at the beach here in Torremolinos! We're all settled in, and the storms have decided to take a break 🤪
Spain 2026 Torremolinos
We're here!
And we missed the worst of the storms!
We had a *mostly* easy drive - the only real anxiety was from the storms and forecasts. But even though we kept seeing signs warning of snow, we only drove through some rain and a little fog. We made sure to leave early, and we took a less-mountainous route.
Well, OK, Google messed us up, again, in Valencia - they are still working on the roads approaching the airport, and this batch of spaghetti is only partly completed! We went 'round the barn, just like 2 years ago 🙄
We had planned to see more of the Alhambra in Granada, so we stayed there last night. But Storm Francis came through, and we changed our minds!
Instead of sightseeing, we left for Torremolinos (Málaga) before the next storm arrived (success!). We even had time to get groceries and settle in 😅
Tomorrow is a holiday in Spain - 3 Kings Day.
All My Bags Are Packed
All My Bags Are Packed 🎼🎶
(Well, almost...)
I'm Ready to Go 🎼🎶
(Yes, definitely!)
Spain is calling!
Here's what we'll be missing
VS this
However, the weather in between is mixed! We have some choices for our stormy drive here. The southern route is through snow country, and the middle route is longer (plus also perhaps snow). We've been on most of the northern route before, and the roads are pretty good - and not so mountainous!
