Spain 2023 Costa del Sol

We left rainy Granada this morning, drove through some fog, then hit full sun at the coast! We only had about 2 hours of drive time to our next stay at Mijas, so we made a couple of stops - first was the town of Nerja, and the Torrecilla Beach. We walked around, then had lunch - outside, in the shade, because the sun was too hot!

We continued driving, then tried to make a quick detour to see the Colomares monument - it should have been just half an hour off route, but... We got waaay off route! By the time we parked, we were already fed up, and definitely not looking forward to retracing our path! The last bit was steeply down, and very winding!

This isn't an ancient ruin or anything, but it was interesting to walk around.

We did find the good route back!!!
And we got to our apartment with 5 minutes to spare 🙂.
All checked in, we watched the sunset, and could see land formations in the distance! I'm pretty sure we were looking at Hercules' European pillar in Gibraltar, and his African one too! Africa is only 60 miles from here, and we had a cloudless evening!
