Old Sac

We spent the afternoon at Old Sac - it brought back a lot of memories!

On the Delta King paddlewheel

Pony Express monument

We checked out the old buildings and boardwalks, including (of course) the Firehouse restaurant and the Candy Barrel...

Aaaaand... The trains!

The threatened rain held off, and we even got a patch or two of blue! All in all, a very nice day 🙂

Julie,

In 1960, I was a brand new 2nd Lieutenant with brand new wings in the US Air Force. Also that year, I moved to Sacramento with my new bride. We lived at 27th and P st, near Sutter's Fort State Historic Park. We left Sacramento in 1963 to my next assignment.

In those years, Old Sac did not exist. But of course, there where things that where there that no longer exist either. That was eons ago.

BTW, we will have to meet up some time soon in Sète. Perhaps when the whether clears, OK?

Wow, Ron! So you just missed it by a few years! I'm guessing you haven't been back 😉
Don't forget the Sète escale in April! We'll be back in time for that 🙂
